Marion is the Artistic Director of Murmuration Arts. She believes that the communities we inhabit, the experiences we are exposed to and opportunities available to us shape and define who we are. Marion facilitates the creation of new networks to help connect individuals as they transition through stages of life. She works with existing communities to widen opportunities for people to engage in the arts. Often her work will involve in-depth research, focusing on building and maintaining relationships.
Marion is currently working on Nightlight Lullabies – a show inspired by her journey into motherhood. A performative installation featuring live singing, recordings of local mothers and a co-written Lullaby by the mothers in the area.
Marion is also a Director of Wyld Mothers Fire, a weekly support group that meets around an open fire, hosting guest speakers and artists. A group close to her heart when she birthed her daughter – Marion now co-runs the group bringing onboard her arts expertise, background and knowledge of creating groups that benefit communities in need.
Marion was a founding member of Ragroof Theatre and Co-Director of The Ragroof Players, developing and managing both companies for 15 years. She has toured internationally as a performer, fulfilling roles as a Performance Director and Producer. She directed Bridges y Puentes – developing a new performance language for site-responsive, promenade shows.
Marion has volunteered with Clowns Without Borders UK, where she toured Zimbabwe, India and Greek refugee camps, providing psycho-social first aid to children living in crisis situations.
“Coming out of Covid, now more than ever we need opportunities to come together, share an experience, feel something collectively. There is so much to process after the pandemic and I hope our work can comfort and soothe.”
